Small habits, big health wins
By Ava Brooks · June 06, 2026 · 4 min read
Nobody transforms their health in a weekend. My most successful clients did it with embarrassingly small actions — repeated daily for months.
Why small beats heroic
Motivation is weather: it changes hourly. Habits are climate. A ten-minute walk you do every day outperforms the two-hour gym session you do twice and abandon. Start so small you cannot fail, then grow the habit once it sticks.
Stack it. Attach the new habit to an old one: squats while the kettle boils, a walk right after lunch, protein with breakfast you already eat.
Track it simply. A wall calendar with a daily X. Do not break the chain — and when life breaks it for you, restart the next day, not next month.
Shrink it first. Too tired for 45 minutes? Do ten. The goal is the identity — “I am someone who trains” — not the perfect session.
Three habits our clients start with
- 8,000 steps a day, tracked on any phone
- Protein at breakfast within an hour of waking
- Lights out by 11pm on weeknights
Master those for a month and training results come twice as fast. Need accountability? Individual Support coaching keeps you honest without the guilt trips.
